Let's introduce ourselves

There's a dedicated team of artists, coders and typists that take care of widgetwidget. They'd like to say hello...

Alexander MacLeanAlexander MacLean founder & pixel pusher, principal artist

Born into a family of actors and artists, Alexander has been a keen designer since an early age. He started to make icons when he got his first Mac way back in 1999. With the launch of Mac OS X, he launched widgetwidget to showcase his work and found rather quickly that his hobby had become a full time job. Since 2002 he's used his skills to help fund his was through university, as well contribute to the Macintosh GUI community as a whole. He gets his kicks from playing the piano, prancing round on stage and eating sushi. He currently works for Apple Computers, Inc. as a Visual Interface and icon designer.

Tom BlomfieldTom Blomfield site coder & php mastermind

A student at Oxford University, Tom is currently studying in Paris for the year. He's an incredibly hard worker, a highly proficient PHPer and is responsible for much of the dynamic content that makes your subscriptions tick. When not helping to implement code at widgetwidget, he can often be found working on some intrepid business plan of his own.

Louise Flanagan Louise Flanagan media relations and pr

We love Louise. She's voracious and fearless when it comes to getting in touch with the world, not to mention the fact that she has year's of industry experience behind her. Vocal, caring and forthright, a true PR guru, she can network faster than a school of plankton, and we wouldn't be without her, nor have it any other way.

Curtis MacLeanCurtis MacLean copy writer & typo chief

Intrepid, interesting, funny (usually), Curtis writes copy for the site. Having worked for major companies in the IT industry and being a fellow artist, he's an endless source of fantastic and quirky ideas, ranging from icons to widgets to the site's design. He's also the one that keeps us all on track... most of the time...
