Okay, this may seem silly, but what is an icon?

Icons are the little graphical pictures you click on the screen to access your programs, folders, drives and documents. They're one of the fundamental operating elements of modern computing, and are integral to how we interact with our machines.

Can I change my icons?

Yes - very easily! widgetwidget exists to provide high quality icons so you can replace the generic ones that ship with your computer something more exciting and vibrant. Changing your icons is one of the easiest ways to personlise your computer so you feel more at home.

Can I use your icons and desktops on my website, or in my software?

Yes! All of our works fall under Creative Commons licences. These allow you to use some of our icons in your commercial and non-commercial work. As each set is released under a different license, please take time about this on our Terms & Conditions page.

What is Magnum Opus?

Magnum Opus is one of the largest icon sets ever released on the internet, and the largest set of Apple hardware icons ever released. It contains 280 icons, 4 million pixel and covers every piece of Apple hardware over the past 30 years. You can see it at Magnum Opus page.

Why don't you post your sets to third party sites, like InterfaceLIFT or ResExcellence?

At widgetwidget, we love the 'community' and all that it has to offer. However, one thing that we're particularly proud of is being known for our high quality icons. By posting our sets to third party sites, we would be jeapordising our quality levels, and so we prefer to keep things centralised.
